i Week Review - Year 11
This week, Year 11 have been challenging their roles in our community and the responsibilities of educated young members of that community. They have discussed issues around everything from financial responsibility to immigration and violence in our country. As part of their work, year 11had the privilege of meeting Janine, a polish survivor of the holocaust. She shared her story and sent a clear message of tolerance and community responsibility.
As well as thinking big about their responsibilities, year 11 have also been working on their more immediate responsibility...exams! Each afternoon they have been researching cognitive science and research into how our brain works with regard to knowledge retention and recall. They have Studied cognitive load theory and how understanding it can help the revision process.
