Local Partnership in Product Design
Year 10 GCSE Design & Technology students have been designing and making items for sale in Gorilla Coffee Café in Kings Heath.
James, the owner of the café, which hosts a lot of activity around cycling, set pupils a design challenge to find a use for all the bicycle parts they collect throughout the year to avoid them going to landfill. He asked students to design and make tea light holders from used bicycle parts to be displayed and sold at the café during and after Christmas.
James supported the students throughout this project and has been in several times to evaluate and guide all students with their design ideas.
If you are in Kings Heath during the Christmas holiday, why not pop in and see or even buy one of the stunning designs.
