National Reading Championships: KS3 Students Shine in School Heat

Our school hosted its 3rd National Reading Championships heat this week, with an impressive 30 KS3 students taking part.

After a fast‑paced series of quick‑fire book-related questions designed by the Booktrust, a talented team of six top‑scoring readers was selected to represent us in the next stage of the competition.
Spanning all three year groups in Key Stage 3, the students demonstrated outstanding focus, teamwork, and reading expertise.

We are incredibly proud of the team and excited to see them compete on 3rd March, just ahead of our annual World Book Day celebrations. If successful, they’ll earn a place in the London final in April—and we’ll be cheering them every step of the way!
