Local Author & Illustrator Inspires Year 9 Students

We were delighted to welcome local author and illustrator Michael Kennedy for two creative workshops and a meet‑and‑greet with our Year 9 students. The visit was made possible through our partnership with the local independent bookshop, How Brave Is The Wren.

Kennedy delivered hands‑on abstract art and illustration workshops for students who have demonstrated resilience and aspiration in their art lessons. He also shared insights into his journey as a reader, writer, and illustrator, discussing how his creative career has shaped his distinctive artistic style.

His visit offered students a unique opportunity to learn from a working artist and to explore the connections between storytelling and visual art.

The students' art will be on display from next week for students to enjoy and for families at our year 9 progress and options evening.
