Following the huge success of last year's event, the 'QB WordPlay' Festival is back and bigger than ever! From 9th November, students across Years 7 to 10 will enjoy a week packed with exciting opportunities to celebrate reading, writing, creativity and storytelling.

The festival will bring authors, script writers and illustrators into school to deliver inspiring assemblies, interactive workshops and creative sessions. Students will have the chance to explore everything from graphic illustration and script writing to the journey of becoming a published author. There will also be opportunities to meet visiting guests at book signings and purchase selected titles at a discounted price.

This year, we are aiming to reach as many students as possible, inspiring a lifelong love of reading while also shining a light on the many careers available within the creative industries. We are delighted to be expanding the festival's reach by welcoming other local schools to join us for selected events and activities.

None of this would be possible without the incredible support, hard work and enthusiasm of our local partner, 'How Brave Is The Wren'. Run by Jenny and her dedicated team on York Road, just a two-minute walk from school, the bookshop plays a vital role in bringing authors, books and creative opportunities to our students.
