Author Visit: Nat Luurtsema Inspires Students with The Overthinkers Club

We were delighted to welcome author Nat Luurtsema into school for a series of engaging and thoughtful workshops with our students.
Best known for her novel The Overthinkers Club, Nat led sessions focused on understanding and managing anxiety, a theme that resonated strongly with many of our students. Drawing on the experiences of her characters, she explored what it means to be an “overthinker” and shared practical ideas for coping with worries, building confidence, and supporting one another.
Students took part in interactive discussions and activities, reflecting on their own experiences and learning that they are not alone in how they feel. Nat’s open and relatable approach helped create a safe space for students to talk, think, and ask questions.
As a Reading School, we are passionate about the power of books to support wellbeing as well as learning. The Overthinkers Club is a fantastic example of how reading can help young people better understand themselves and others.
We would like to thank Nat for such an inspiring visit, and we hope that students will continue to explore her work and the important themes it raises.
