Biography
Karen is Assistant Headteacher at Queensbridge School, where she leads on Partnerships, Careers, Educational Visits, Wider Learning, and Year 6 Transition.
In her role as Partnerships Lead, Karen works closely with a range of organisations to provide enriching opportunities for students to embrace new challenges, engage with the wider community, and contribute meaningfully to society.
Karen is also the Careers Lead at Queensbridge, where she oversees a comprehensive careers programme designed to prepare students for their post-16 journey. This includes tailored activities, guidance, and real-world encounters that support students in making informed choices about their futures.

Karen began her teaching career in Hertfordshire before returning to the Midlands, where she served as Director of Sport in a specialist sports college. A committed educational professional and researcher, she holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Management from the University of Hertfordshire and a Bachelor of Education with Honours from Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education. She is also a former Advanced Skills Teacher, having worked extensively with higher education institutions and initial teacher trainees to help shape the future of the teaching profession.
A keen and competitive sportsperson, Karen has played hockey, badminton, and squash, and now enjoys cycling, skiing, and swimming. She holds several outdoor leadership qualifications, including Advanced Ski Course Leader, Ride Leader (cycling), and the Basic Expedition Leader Award. She leads the Year 7 residential trip, the school ski trip, and regularly organises student cycling excursions.
Karen’s passion for education, enrichment, and student development is at the heart of her work, helping to ensure that every student at Queensbridge School has the opportunity to grow, achieve, and thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
