Year 7 Students Discover the Joy of Reading Beyond the Classroom

Exploring Literature in the Outdoor Amphitheatre and the School Library
Our Year 7 students recently had the delightful experience of reading their class reader, Alone, in a variety of inspiring settings. Embracing the beautiful spring weather, they gathered in the outdoor amphitheatre, where the natural surroundings added a unique dimension to their reading. The sunshine and fresh air created an invigorating atmosphere, making the stories come alive in a way that the confines of a traditional classroom could not. This outdoor reading session not only fostered a love for literature but also highlighted the joy of reading in different environments.
In addition to their outdoor adventures, the students also spent time in the school library, a haven for book lovers. The library provided a quiet and cosy space for them to immerse themselves in the narrative of Alone. This dual approach to reading—both outdoors and in the library—demonstrated that reading is not just an academic task but a lifelong pleasure that can be enjoyed anywhere. By exploring different settings, our Year 7 students discovered that a good book can be a companion in any environment, enriching their educational journey and personal growth.
