Queensbridge School is looking to recruit a strong Head of Year who will share our determination to transform the life chances of our 900 pupils. At Queensbridge the pastoral team is a dedicated group of colleagues and you will lead on all aspects of pupil behaviour and well-being in support of every child’s achievement within your year group.
As a non-teaching Head of Year you will proactively lead and manage the progress, attendance, behaviour and well-being of your year group – leading with purpose, presence and passion. Applications are welcome from Teachers/ECT’s looking for a term of pastoral experience.
About You:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organisational skills
- Commitment to education and ensuring equal opportunities
- Previous experience with children or young people, particularly in Pastoral extremely advantageous
- You will need empathy, patience and resilience
About the Role:
- Ensure success is celebrated and underachievement is addressed in a timely manner
- Identify, coordinate, and drive tailored interventions that support students in overcoming barriers to attendance, progress, and conduct
- Proactively foster strong, collaborative relationships with parents and carers to build a consistent support network for every student
- Develop and deliver a high-impact year group improvement plan that aligns with school priorities and responds dynamically to student needs
