Actual Salary £22,663.33 (SCP9) - £23,838.04 (SCP12)

Full Time 37.5 hours per week

(Monday to Friday 7.30am to 3.30pm – hours include 30-minute unpaid break)

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen, and we are seeking to strengthen and increase our HR team.  Queensbridge School is seeking to appoint an outstanding HR and Cover Administrator who will share our determination to transform the life chances of our pupils.  Queensbridge School is an 11-16 comprehensive, friendly and oversubscribed all-ability school of 900 pupils. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative problem solver and an all-round team player with energy, drive and vision.  The role will require a professional who is self-motivated, approachable, and organised.  The main duty of this role is to provide efficient and effective administration service in relation to HR and Cover. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration and organisation of absent staff and to ensure that all classes, forms and duties are taken by appropriately qualified staff.  They will also provide a confidential and personal service to the HR Team in all matters relating to HR and Cover.  The role will also include providing support to the PA to the Headteacher with Whole School Administration and Communication.

About You: 

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders, both within and beyond the school
  • Organisational skills
  • Have administration experience (within a school environment is desirable)
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office
  • Able to develop constructive working relationships with staff
  • Excellent personal qualities including empathy, patience and resilience

About the Role: 

  • To receive calls and emails from staff regarding their absence
  • To maintain and provide analysis of cover and produce statistics and data for HR and the Headteacher with regards to absences, patterns, trends and impact of cover
  • To assist the HR Team in providing a comprehensive HR administration service
  • To support the HR Team in maintaining the School’s Single Central Record
  • To support the HR Team with recruitment, pre-employment checks, probation process and absence monitoring
  • Ensure all statutory reporting on behalf of the school is accurate and timely
  • Ensure follow up on any internal or external audit reports
  • Be Safer Recruitment Trained
  • Support with Whole School Administration, to include whole school communication to parents/carers, provide administrative support to the Assistant Headteacher for key events
